StormBeacon is published by Brian Schwartz, under the Sonny & Robo brand. Support is not an emergency service.

Send feedback or report a problem

In StormBeacon, open Settings → Help & about → Support & feedback. Android can send feedback directly without an email app. Email and sharing options are also available; iOS currently uses those options.

Tell us what you expected, what happened and how to reproduce it. Include your app version, phone model and operating-system version if possible. If a particular forecast or alert is involved, its city, issue time and source can help. Do not send passwords, backup passphrases or an exact home address.

Diagnostic reports are optional. Review a report before sharing it. A feedback reference confirms receipt by our server; it does not mean the message has been reviewed.

Weather and radar updates

Check the observation or scan time shown with the data, then use Refresh. Different weather apps may use different stations, observation times or forecast models. Downloading a forecast again does not make the provider's observation newer.

StormBeacon can keep saved weather visible when a provider is unavailable. If alert details say requests are briefly paused, leave the details open while they retry automatically. Missing alert boundaries or an unavailable official graphic should not be interpreted as the absence of a hazard.

Radar playback shows past observations. Layers → All overlays off returns to the base map. Easy presets provide a starting point; Advanced controls let you choose individual layers.

StormBeacon is independent software, not an official government app. Provider updates and notifications may be delayed or unavailable. Follow official emergency instructions and keep established warning channels available.

Notifications and widgets

Enable the notifications you want in the app and in your phone's settings. Operating-system scheduling, battery restrictions and network availability can affect background updates; alert delivery is not guaranteed.

Home-screen widgets and the status-bar temperature notification are Android features. Widget size and lock-screen placement depend on your launcher and device. iOS does not currently include these Android widget features.

Privacy, permissions and deletion

No StormBeacon account is needed. You can choose a city without granting GPS access. Settings → Privacy & permissions explains the permissions and contains the offline privacy notice.

Use Settings → Data, battery & backups → Delete saved places and weather data to clear the app's saved information. This cannot recall backups, screenshots or reports you already shared.

For a support-data deletion request, email support@sonnyandrobo.com. Include a feedback reference or the email address used to contact us so we can locate the correspondence. We may need to verify the request.

Read the app privacy policy, including retention and deletion controls, or the separate website privacy notice.

Backups and moving devices

Open Settings → Data, battery & backups → Backup & restore. Export the places and settings you want to keep. Encryption is enabled by default; keep the passphrase somewhere safe. We do not receive it and cannot recover it.

Keep the old device and backup until you have checked the restored information. Notification permissions and background-enable switches must be reviewed again on the destination device.
